The first furniture commission that I received. It took a little longer than I anticipated but I'm very proud with the result. The client wanted the piece to have specific outer dimensions and we came to an agreement on the overall style they were looking for. The floating shelf system allows them to place objects of varying heights in multiple positions while maintaining a consistent look.
The main body is constructed out of hard maple with red oak being used for the shelves, supports, and feet. The entire build contains zero metal fasteners, relying only on joinery techniques and wood glue. And it was created entirely with handheld tools.
